Josjan studied psychology in Rotterdam and received his PhD in child psychiatry on a neuroimaging study on the neural correlates of antisocial behavior in young adults. He currently works as a post-doc at the Amsterdam University Medical Center where he studies child mental health in large cohorts. In addition, he works on describing and understanding the psychedelic experience in a rational manner and his investigating the feasibility of MDMA-assisted therapy for youth with PTSD. He also coordinates an Honours Program Course on the neuroscience, history, and therapeutic potential of psychedelics.
We are based at the Cognitive Psychology Section at Leiden University. We study Psychedelic, Religious, Spiritual and Mystical experiences by using an interdisciplinary research approach.
