Do you believe in god? Or do you consider yourself a spiritual-but-not-religious person? We study the nature of unbelief and alternative worldview that people endorse.
These days many people no longer self-identify as religious. But still a lot of them believe in supernatural phenomena, mindreading, a soul and in an afterlife. We study the varieties of religious unbelief, by using cross-cultural studies in combination with neuroimaging techniques. Our aim is to obtain insight in the explicit and implicit worldviews endorsed by people who no longer consider themselves to be religious.
