Josjan studied psychology in Rotterdam and received his PhD in child psychiatry on a neuroimaging study on the neural correlates of antisocial behavior in young adults. He currently works as a post-doc at the Amsterdam University Medical Center where he studies child mental health in large cohorts. In addition, he works on describing and understanding the psychedelic experience in a rational manner and his investigating the feasibility of MDMA-assisted therapy for youth with PTSD. He also coordinates an Honours Program Course on the neuroscience, history, and therapeutic potential of psychedelics.
