The effects of psychedelic retreats on the brain

In collaboration with retreat centers Innerlijke Reis, Inward Bound and Set and Setting, our research team is conducting a study with the purpose of uncovering the underlying brain activity and connectivity changes after a psychedelic experience. We want to explore to what extent the change from baseline connectivity can be linked to lasting therapeutic and cognitive benefits. Specifically, we will replicate results from experiences in laboratory settings in more ecologically valid psychedelic retreats. In addition, we aim to uncover the effects of retreat participation on belief changes and meaning in life.
